C’mon, Extension Cords…. Really?

by Chuck on Dec.28, 2008, under Christmas Display Talk

Like we do each evening when the show starts (6:00), we went outside to make sure everything powers up correctly. Since we had major storms last night, there’s always a worry that things don’t go as planned.

Well, we noticed that the entire roof and house didn’t power up! Yikes! So I scramble to the back of the house, and simply grab a connection where two extension cords are plugged together! Voila! Roof and house come back on!

All the high tech stuff in the world…. and a single extension cord caused all that problem!

Thank you all for such a great treat. Your family & friends have gave something to the community that will leave great lasting memories for all. We were all amazed at the size and beauty of the display. Even more amazing is the fact the you did this on your own, wow! We thought, until reading this blog, that you had probably had some big company do this for you. Thanks again to all of you. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to come.

Thanks, and the community has really donated well this year. We’re probably going to top out around 4500 pounds of food for the Food Bank.

You can pretty much bet that any display like ours was done by the owners themselves. There really aren’t any Christmas companies out there that do this type of thing. Glad you enjoyed it, and just wait until next year…..

Hey Mr. Downs! I’m one of Kayleigh’s friends. I just thought I would tell you how much everyone who has seen it loved it! I even had a few people tell me they wanted to meet you but I said I’ll just tell you haha. It is gorgeous this year! My favorite is Dueling Jingle Bells (the lights at the bottom look like legs dancing!!). I also love the trees in Joy To The World! They look like they are clapping! Every time we see it, we laugh histerically. Thanks!!
